“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”

At Child Psychology of Long Island, we believe in addressing the whole child and their unique needs. Our practice offers a range of services, including diagnostic evaluations, evidence-based treatment, and family support and education all under one roof. This approach ensures that families receive the comprehensive care they deserve, streamlining the process and reducing stress. We are dedicated to building trusting, long-term relationships with the families that we work with. Our team of experienced professionals is committed to helping children reach their full potential and supporting families every step of the way.
Child Psychology of Long Island was founded in 2019, by Dr. Jacalyn Bruno, a clinical psychologist with a passion for helping children and their families overcome the challenges that they face. Dr. Bruno began her career as a school psychologist. She has experience in both public and private school settings from preschool to high school. Dr. Bruno left her job in the school setting with the goal of helping more kids and families, and being there as a more stable support across kids lives.
We work with children and teens struggling with educational challenges, behavioral disorders and mental health issues such as anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and Autism. Our goal is to offer a safe space, create trusting relationships and teach skills to help you and your family grow together.
