FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Child Psychology of Long Island does not participate as an in-network provider in any specific health insurance plan. Some insurance companies will cover a portion of the fees under out-of-network, outpatient mental health benefits. We will provide you with a detailed statement of the services provided. We recommend consulting your insurance carrier in advance of your appointment for the specific benefits of your plan.

HOW LONG WILL MY CHILD NEED TREATMENT?

The length of treatment will vary depending on the diagnosis, severity of a child’s symptoms, and specific treatment plan, but generally we aim to provide goal-directed, therapeutic interventions.  We evaluate the level of care a child needs during the initial evaluation, and then we adjust the level of care according to the child’s needs throughout the treatment process. Our goal is to provide you and your child with the skills to end treatment as quickly as possible.

WHAT IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS STARTING TREATMENT?
